Good news for people in Bangladesh who want to travel to Australia! From now on, Australia will process visas for Bangladeshi citizens directly from its High Commission in Dhaka.
Earlier, all visa applications from Bangladesh were handled through Australia’s High Commission in New Delhi, India. But now, this has changed to make things easier for Bangladeshi travelers.
On 20 March, Australian Home Minister Tony Burke called Bangladesh’s Home Affairs Adviser Lt Gen (retd) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury to inform him about this decision. It is effective immediately.
This change happened after Bangladesh’s Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus requested it during the Australian minister’s visit to Bangladesh last October.
This decision will make the visa process easier and faster for Bangladeshi students, tourists, and others planning to visit Australia.
